(love/people): oh, bama

independent of politics and policies, i LOVE barack obama. i'm pretty pissed that i wasn't the one that made that "i have a crush on obama" youtube video. but anyway, here is one more reason to love him: 

I read a rumour on ny mag's The Cut this week that he may be appointing ANNA WINTOUR as his ambassador to France. please. i can't even put down the appropriate words for how amazing this is. acknowledged, this is pretty far-fetched, but can you imagine? would she be besties with Carla Bruni? if nothing else, it would ensure that Michelle's wardrobe is top-notch, 24/7.

whether this happens or not, cheers to obama for putting the cool in diplomacy (not to mention a Brit as the American ambassador to the French). i would argue that there is nothing "cool" about the Bush admin (no, really). i see the appointment of Wintour as a throwback to Jackie O and de Gaulle in the 60's. just cool.
