(love): the gap

as perhaps i've mentioned in previous posts, i LOVE the gap. love love love it. my only complaint, an admittedly ridiculous one, is that i wish they would stop discounting things so much.

take, for example, this wicked denim motorcycle jacket i purchased last weekend. it's cute as a button and is exactly what i've been looking for at other, more expensive stores for months. i fell in love with it when i tried it on (what a fun take on a traditional denim jacket) and fell in love again when i saw the $80 price tag. i walked up to the cashier, only to discover that it was just marked down 50 percent. for goodness sakes, i was more than willing to pay full price!

another example (and there are more) - a couple of weeks back i was doing some fun summer wardrobe shopping with a friend. we stopped in at the gap and found him a sweet purple polo on sale for EIGHT DOLLARS. bananas.

so even though it appears they don't want to take my money, i'm thrilled that sales were up 6.5 percent in Q1. relief after a rather bleak forecast in recent months.
